The special edition BMW M4 2022 will be called with its own name, 50 Jahre BMW M editions. And this will also apply to the G80 M3 model. Both are equipped with 2 engine options: Standard (473 hp / 550 Nm) and Competion (503 hp / 650 Nm). And depending on the engine version, these two models will be equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission, combined with rear-wheel drive or xDrive four-wheel drive.
In addition to being the same two 50th anniversary versions of the Jahre BMW M editions, the BMW M3 and M4 2022 have all received exterior upgrades to improve aesthetics, making them more prominent. The first is the exterior paint that will use the typical colors of the BMW M branch in the past, along with forging wheels with exclusive paint.
BMW M4 50 Jahre BMW M will be offered with 5 exterior color options including Carbon Black, Mâco Blue, Brands Hatch Gray, Imola Red and San Marino Blue. Combined is the option of matte painted wheels with 2 colors – Orbit Gray and Bronze Gold.
The above options will be exclusive to Europe and other markets. However, China alone will have 2 more colors of Fire Orange (combined with Orbit Gray wheels) and Stratus Gray (combined with Bronze Gold wheels). According to BMW, these two paint colors are intended to emphasize the meaning of BMW M's 50th anniversary event, which also coincides with the year of the Tiger according to the Chinese lunar calendar.
The interior of the two versions "50 Jahre BMW M" is also created special highlights. The door sill area will be protected with the words "Edition 50 Jahre BMW M". In addition, the center console area and front seat headrests are also attached with these badges, including customers choosing standard M sports seats or M carbon shaped seats.
If the BMW M4 50 Jahre BMW M has a global reach, the BMW M3 50 Jahre BMW M is designed specifically for the US and Canadian markets. This model will have 5 exterior paint color options including Vermilion Red, Techno Purple, Interlagos Blue, Fire Orange and Limerock Gray.
All are combined with Orbit Gray wheels and use special forged wheels. In addition, M Performance accessories will be upgraded such as a front splitter, rear spoiler and tubes both titanium or carbon.
The interior of the BMW M3 50 Jahre BMW M will have many similarities with the M4 version such as the "Edition 50 Jahre BMW M" door sill panels. Seats beyond the M badge will feature an M stripe pattern on the headrests, combined with exclusive stitching.
In addition, the metal badge “M3 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M” located on the center console will be numbered 1 – 500/500 vehicles, a sign to identify the production order of the limited edition.
Meanwhile M4 version 50 Jahre BMW M will not have this detail. The limited number of 1,000 vehicles will be limited depending on the region and market in which it is sold.
